The Ayrshire Men's A Team compete anually in the Scottish Men's Area Team Championship and the West of Scotland Inter County League competitions, as well as playing some other annual fixtures against local clubs and other Area Association teams.

Ayrshire have enjoyed success in the Scottish Men's Area Team Championship on three occasions, winning the title in 1986, 2008, and 2015.

Ayrshire were the innaugural winners of the West of Scotland Inter County League trophy in 1936, and have won the title a total of ten times, including a hat trick of wins from 2015 to 2017.
